More About Me

Three simple core beliefs of mine: GET OUTSIDE, GET MOVING, and GET QUIET. I have seen the impactful benefits of getting outside, to get moving, and to get quiet. There is plenty of research on these topics explaining all of their benefits, however here is what it looks like for me.

GET OUTSIDE

Any chance I get to be in the outdoors, I’m there! And that’s the same for my family. My wife, our daughter, our dog, and I - all love to hike, take walks through a park, camping; really pretty much anything outdoors. My wife and I both love shooting archery, and I’m an avid deer hunter.   The outdoors is our favorite place to be, which is one of the many reasons we love the Greater Chattanooga area!

GET MOVING

Another favorite of mine is to do Crossfit. Crossfit is a place where I can put all my stress and let it go through the intensity of the workouts allowing more headspace to effectively engage with those around me. One of the main reasons I love Crossfit is the community. Crossfit gyms have a rich sense of community. This sense of community is exemplified in the support of each other through challenging workouts, and by giving encouragement no matter where someone is at in their fitness journey or in any given workout.

GET QUIET

Considering how much I like to talk (don’t worry - I understand social cues and know when to wrap it up). I have learned to find quiet in my morning before starting the day. I will spend time reading, sometimes journaling, or simply just sitting in the quietness. It’s easy to forget how noisy the day is until you sit in the quiet, and how necessary it is to connect with yourself. In the business of my career, I have to choose to set time aside and create systems to allow myself the space to quiet myself.
